Dropping off my wife at work one day and we were both in awe at these cloud formations, angry and apocalyptic!
Just grabbed the photo on my phone, but I think it still captures the awesomeness of the moment.

They were, but at the same time you couldn’t stop staring at them!
awesome … you description is also apt.
What a wonderful shot. Those clouds are really spectacular.
Oooo..cool clouds!
Oh my. Don’t show that to any Mayans. I hear they’re still on red alert.
Those clouds are insane. Scary and beautiful at the same time!
Yeah my thoughts exactly. Just amazed watching them.
Great shot
Thanks! It was awesome to just stand and stare!
the end of the world !
Great shot !
These are amazing cloud formations. I’ve seen similar ones over Lake Balaton, in Hungary, but nowhere else. Hey, we’re having a family travel photo competition over at Field Notes From Fatherhood, and it looks like you may have some great shots to enter. If you have a minute take a look: http://fieldnotesfromfatherhood.com/2013/01/08/one-week-left-for-photo-competition/
Cheers!
Thanks for the comment.
I’ll see what I’ve got for the photo comp. I assume I just post it and tag it to your blog?
Actually, entries are being sent directly to my email, which is posted with the competition information.
What I’m doing is selecting the best ones, and having two rounds of reader voting to determine first a top ten, then the final winner. All photos will have a link back to the blog of the person submitting, and a brief description of each photo. If you want to see the results of our last one, you can find it here: http://fieldnotesfromfatherhood.com/2012/07/31/photo-contest-winners/
Hope you can send some shots!
I love the picture, the title and the emotions in the turbulence! I take pictures all the time of clouds on my antiquated cell phone. I have one I captured what looks like an angel looking down. Definitely clouds are visionary in one way or another!
Yes clouds are amazing and it’s amazing what you can capture without high end equipment! Thanks for the comments 🙂
